Engine continuing to run with key off.

Only the 1977 MGB model year had a problem with the engine continuing to run when the ignition key was removed from the lock. This was caused by the alternator feeding back through the ignition system. If your MG missed the factory recall, this is what to do. You place a DIODE in the small alternator wire at the back of the alternator. This wire is color coded brown and yellow. Since a diode will only let electricity flow one way, make sure that the ignition warning light lights up when the key is turned on, if not, just reverse the diode. And that should fix your 1977 MGB.
